My favourite subject at school was art, so it is no surprise that some years later I found scrapbooking and card making! After getting the bug from scrapbooking my wedding album in 2003, a love of card making took over – especially stamping!

The stamp collection that I share with my Mum is extensive and I am sure it multiplies everyday! Card Making is what I do to relax in the little spare time that I have. I love passing on new ideas and I love learning new things. I always look forward to my Thursday night classes.

Colleen

As a child I was always doing something with my hands. As I got older and started earning pocket money, I was able to explore the world of crafts. I probably completed my first tapestry at around age 13 and since then have continued to expand my crafty repertoire. My passion for craft and its ability to bring people together is what inspired me to purchase Craft-A-Lot.

I am the I.T. guru at Craft-A-Lot. When the gals break things, I am the fixa-rupparrer. I am also married to the boss which comes with its own advantages.....

I have been crafting since I can remember. I love cardmaking, scrapping and have recently become addicted to Delica Beading (all Colleens fault ;p !!).

I have been at Craft-A-Lot for nearly 2 years now and I love it. When I am not here or at home crafting, I am driving around in my kool 1970's mini.

Over the years I’ve enjoyed many crafty pursuits and I’ve thrown myself into each and every one of them before moving onto the next thing. But after my youngest child was born I bought a woodmounted rubber stamp and an inkpad and my love affair with paper crafting began. There wasn’t much time for crafting with 4 young children but I made cards for every special occasion and stamped anything and everything that didn’t move!

About 4 years ago I got really serious about paper crafting and I began submitting work to magazines both here in Australia and overseas and have had many pieces accepted and published. I’ve now branched into mixed media and have also added jewellery making to my repertoire.

I’m currently a member of the Krafty Lady design team and through working with these fabulous art moulds, a whole new world has opened up to me and now that I’ve joined the Craft-a-Lot team, I’m able to pass on all that I’ve learned to you. Look out for some interesting classes and new techniques, not only on paper but also in jewellery making and off the page projects.

Being a Hairdresser and Nail Technician by trade I have always had a flair for crafts. From the age of 5yrs my Grandmother taught me to knit and sew, and my mother taught me to crochet and Xstitch. Later on I met a wonderful lady and she introduced me to card making and scrapbooking, I love it so much I now work part time at the shop

Sue

My name is Sue Smyth and I have been an artist all of my life. I have had work published since young age of 11years in newspapers and magazines.

I teach and work in two stores and have classes at home in my workspace. I am launching a range of trifold cards custom cut to my design and also working on designing chipboard embellishments which are sold by a local company.

I love scrapbooking because you can put so much love and care into your work, and the viewer can see that, and what is more, it is all about the people, and times you love. All of our work will be left for the generations to come, and they will see into your life, and heart, by the work you leave, and they will marvel at how clever you are. I love to teach that same thing to others, so they can feel the sense of satisfaction, and achievement I do when I finish a page that speaks to me of the journey that is my life.

I am a paper addict!!! I get my love of all things craft from my mother however the day my grandmother taught me to use scissors, was the day my love and fascination with paper started. This fascination carried me into a career in the print industry and in the last few years onto teaching scrapbooking and cardmaking throughout Brisbane. A major part of my craft is discovering what I can create and part of the enjoyment is trying out all new and different colours, techniques and styles. My major inspiration comes from everyday lif and to quote a Unity Stamp “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly”

I have always been into a variety of craft; the main ones being knitting, cross-stitching and bear making, then my daughter started scrapbooking her wedding album and I developed a passion for that as well. Claire and I share our love of stamping, and it is so lovely to have a hobby that we can share together.
