This week we are going to be experimenting with alcohol inks to make interesting backgrounds for our cards.

This wonderful interactive page with a modern/vintage feel is great for boy or girl and any age group. Nature is a wonderful backdrop for photos of our children and the Webster's pages feature nature at its best.

We fit four or five photos on this one page, and learn how to use all the lovely images in the papers to embellish the layout.

Good day fellow crafters!

This Saturday we will be making two cards featuring the Fancy Pants Kraft paper and brown ric-rac!

What to bring:

For this class you will only need to bring a length of brown ric-rac...you can pick up the exact one I've used from the shop at only 50c a metre....(Baaaargain!)

We will be cuttlebugging, versamark stamping and distressing with an inkpad so book in quick to secure your place!

Use the cuttlebug to its best and make this wonderfully textured page, so stunning it could be used for an album cover or front page.

 

You will not be able to resist touching it. Learn the tricks to inking the paper, and create that aged and magical depth to your page, try the cuttlebug and create your own textures.

 

Suitable for a boy or girl. This would also be lovely as a wedding page!

Welcome to another project filled week at C.A.L.

 

Before I show you the classes... I just have to say... HOW GOOD are the coffee’s from the new CAFE next door!!!

 

Last Monday night the cafe was open until around 8... and they came down to see if we wanted anything whilst we had class.... talk about great SERVICE....   (and yeah... they spoil us a bit...)..

 

Ok.. back to the interesting stuff...hehehe

 

It’s been wonderful to see so many new faces over the last few weeks........ with a special mention to Mad MAZZ (you know who you are... ;p)....... Mad MAZZ has attended more classes this last fortnight than I have had hot dinners....you go GIRL... xxx

 

SATURDAY 23rd Jan – (9.30am) – ‘Scrap-ur-day’ with Kirsten...

 

Hello all,

This Saturday we will be creating a page that borderlines being called 'Chromatic'.

chro·mat·ic    (kr?-m?t'?k)     adj.       Relating to colours or colour.

 

We will choose one colour as our main feature and embellish using all different shades of that colour.

 

You will need:

 

 - 1 or 2 standard sized photos (or a larger photo if you wish).
 - Numerous flowers ranging in shade of your chosen colour.
 - A chipboard swirl or two.
 - Rhinestones and brads.
 - A white doodling pen.
 - A rub-on sentiment or lettering to make your page's title.

 

Feel free to bring photos of any theme (my dog is more human than you'd think lol!).

See  how we age and distress it to make a beautiful old piece of sheet music that we then use as a basis for our fold out book on a page.

 

This page has a lot of lovely accents including the lattice fold edge.

 

Suitable for any gender and also heritage photos, even wedding photos or any event that includes music.

 

3 photos either 6 x 4 or 5 x 7 in sepia or colour.

Have lots of fun with Nestabilities, Stitching and various different papers!

 

We have used a trimmed 5 x 6 photo, trimmed 4 x 6 photo and smaller photos trimmed to size..

 

Colour scheme and photo sizes are flexible..

 

Bring Chipboard letters if you have any and all other supplies are available in store...

 

 

TUESDAY 19th Jan – (9.30am) – ‘Scrapaholics’ with Sue...

 

We all have lovely photos of our children when they were young.

 

With this page we show case one lovely photo, that shows how quick they grow.

 

Using simple elements we complete the page, suitable for any gender.

1-      5 x 7 or 6 8 photo

 

 

THURSDAY 21st Jan – (12.00pm) – ‘Sue’s Scrapbooking’

 

Do you have a wonderful sepia photo of your Dad or just someone special to you.

 

If so this is the page you need, we make a flip out frame that highlights the photo and allows you space to put journaling or other small photos.

Hi Everyone,


By majority vote, we will be doing a BTP page project this week... Thanks to the gals from Saturday for helping chose our project....lol

You will be using rub-ons, stamps, some bling and flowers, as well as anything else you would like to use!

The aim of this class is to show you what you can do with all those little bits and pieces you have laying around..

This week I love....especially the brown and blue. Something about these colours I love, and the stamp set is so nice - it is a Unity one. I can't believe I haven't used it before!

 

If you have a sponge at home, bring it in as we will be sponging the card. You will also need the following -

In this class you will learn how to blend using Marvy Products, mixing colours and how to use Stampscape Products.

You can use any of he stamps you like, which guarantees that everyone of us has our own masterpiece...

Hi Everyone

This Saturday is a chance to use up some of those little photos that are too small to scrap on their own.

 

You will need:

  • 5 to 9 photos - number is up to you.  Photos will need to be trimmed so be prepared to cut them.  :)
  • Brads, Rhinestones or pearls 
  • Lettering of some kind for your title.... I used cuttlebug letters and will bring the cutting templates along.

You may also wish to use one of the sparkling scrap metal frames to showcase a photo (available in store at 30% off!)

Join us to make this sweet baby page featuring the Lacey Fluer D Lys Spellbinder.

 

See how you can use it on pages and not just cards.

This layout would suite any gender, and could be adapted to a heritage photo just as easily.

This Tuesday we will be doing a versatile Black and White Layout.

 

Using punches we will create this striking black and white border that will suit any theme or gender.

 

See how using one element repetitively can give your page the WOW factor!!

 

I recommend using one -  5 x 7 or 6 x 8 photo.. But we can adapt to suit other photo sizes if you need to.

Class - Thursday 14th January

 

Back to normal! Well – kinda :) No Christmas cards for another year! Can you believe how quickly the year goes?!

 

I may or may not be here for this class but here is a sneak peak at the cards. Mum or Catherine will be taking the class.

 

We will be using acetate and vellum for something different and the new stamps – Denami - that came in just before Christmas – they are so cute.

 

You will make 2 cards of the standard class fee $14 which includes your materials.

Claire will show you some great new stamps and papers that cannot be purchased in store unless you do this class! There are 8 new sets of stamps from Ippity and some beautiful papers from My Minds Eye.

Happy New Year ladies!

 

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas :)

 

This Saturday is our first one back for the new year, so our page is using several different techniques to give our minds a crafty boost after all that lovely Christmas food...hehehe

 

You will need:

·        -Lettering of some sort for your title...I used chipboard stickers

 

We will be stamping on acetate (OOO EXCITING!)

Hi ladies, Welcome to another scrapbooking week at Craft-a-lot.

 

Tuesday & Saturday: "Sleeping angel":

 

We are making a cute layout using embossed cardstock and a crochet flower. If you can crochet and would like to make your own please bring a hook. I will have a few to choose from for those who don't want to make their own. This layout will look great with beach photos, for those of you who want to use a boy's photo.

You will need:

·         1 photo 4x6", preferably landscape

·         a few paper flowers in various sizes

·         rhinestones / pearls / brads

·         a paper distresser if you have one (pink disk) a Xyron, if you have one, for glueing down the leaves

·         1 Bazzill border

 

Friday: "Rothenburg"

 

As requested by you, we are repeating the waterfall album page, which can hold 6-11 smaller photos! Perfect for those occasions when you couldn't help yourself and took snapshot after snapshot...

 

You will need:

-          your own paper trimmer

-          1 regular photo (4x6)

-          6 or 11 photos to be trimmed to different sizes. All are 3.5" wide, hights vary between 2" and 4.5".

-          2 large and 5 small brads

-          2 paper flowers for layering

-          a short piece of smooth ribbon.

 

Please remember to book in as classes will only go ahead if there are at least 2 bookings. I hope to see you at class this week!

This Saturday we will be weaving with paper and ribbon! We will be working with Acetate, getting messy with inks and adding plenty of bling !

You can use any colour combination that you like.... and you will be cropping your photos to 5.5 x 10 cm. So try and find ones that will give you unique views when trimmed xxx

Remember to book in as seats are already filling up!
